LSU vs Arkansas

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! The 2011 season has certainly been something for LSU fans to be thankful for and an absolute dream season, so far. For the first time since 1958, LSU is 11-0. You also have to go back that far to find a time that LSU has been ranked #1 more then the current streak of 9. These are truly the "good ol days"!

After beating up on a virtually helpless Ole Miss team that is truly one of the worst SEC teams that's been seen in a while, LSU jumps back into the gauntlet this week with #3 Arkansas coming to Baton Rouge. To start November, we had "The Game of the Century" against Alabama. Now to end November, we have what many are calling the biggest game in the history of Tiger Stadium. This is the THIRD time this season that LSU faces a team ranked in the top 3, and it might not be the last, of course. It's Senior Day. It's cochon de lait (or as folks here say, pig pickin') time. Whatever, the stakes continue to be incredibly high for a team that just seems to relish the big stage. It's conceivable that LSU could lose a close game and still make the SEC and BCS championship games, but not a certainty. (In that scenario the trip to Atlanta will come down to the top 2 teams in the BCS between LSU/Bama/Arkansas and who has the head to head win; if Arkansas is #3 then LSU goes, otherwise has to hope for the #2 spot.) So the mantra remains, just win!

Here are a few links of interest: From last week, the Wall Street Journal on punter Brad Wing - how many teams have a punter with swagger? ESPN's SEC blogger Chris Lowe discusses whether LSU's 2011 is potentially the greatest college season ever. Please RSVP so we can get the best seating and service. (Note that seating is first come first served and we aren't able to guarantee seating, but try to reserve enough space - though that shouldn't be a problem for this game.)
