STATUS: As of Jan. 12 2012, local applications received = 34, state wide count is approximately 85.
SPECIAL NOTE: The three North Carolina alumni chapters are planning to hold a combined statewide raffle for a really special item. Everyone who has submitted a paid application will be automatically entered. More details to come on this.
Exciting news for LSU Tigers in North Carolina - we have a start for something a lot of folks have wished for: an official state of North Carolina LSU license plate! This is a great opportunity to show that purple and gold pride in the Tarheel state. The details are explained more fully in an attached document (see below) but the basics are this: we need 300 people, state wide, to fill out the application form (also attached) and send it in with payment. Payments should be made out to "LSU Alumni Association" and the charge is $25 (annual fee) for a regular numbered plate, or $55 for a personalized plate. We are in a friendly competition with Georgia to see which state's chapters can get a plate first. They have a head start but need 1000 applicants. Florida, Auburn, and South Carolina have NC plates available already. (You can see the list of collegiate plates at this link from the DOT; it's interesting to see that the SEC is the only conference (other than the ACC) with multiple schools available.)
Attached to this article are 2 files: 1) LSU License Plate Initiative.pdf - This is an explanation of the license plate program with a lot of info that will hopefully answer any questions. 2) NC LSU Plate- Form MVR27C.pdf - THIS IS THE FORM YOU NEED TO SEND IN WITH PAYMENT! PLEASE forward this information as far and wide as you like - we want to get the 300 applications and make this a "Geaux" as quickly as possible!
