LAFAYETTE, La. - After opening Tuesday's final round of the 25th-annual Louisiana Classics in a three-way tie for the top spot in the team standings, the LSU men's golf team earned a two-shot victory over the 13th-ranked Illinois Fighting Illini on the strength of junior Andrew Loupe's first career individual victory in the two-day, 54-hole event held at Oakbourne Country Club.

BATON ROUGE - The LSU track and field teams are preparing to make the trip to Fayetteville, Ark., this weekend to compete in the 2010 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships, and both the Tigers and Lady Tigers will arrive at the Randal Tyson Track Center with top-five national rankings according to the latest power ranking released Monday.

BATON ROUGE - The LSU track and field teams will be well-represented at the 2010 NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend as a total of 20 entries have been accepted into the meet beginning Friday at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.

BATON ROUGE - LSU men's basketball coach Trent Johnson met with the local media Monday for a final media session before leaving on Tuesday for the Southeastern Conference Tournament in Nashville. The team will depart Tuesday after practice and meet with the media at the tournament site, Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., followed by practice in the arena at 1 p.m.

LSU pushed its winning streak to eight games highlighted by the Tiger Invitational championship over the weekend at Tiger Park. The Tigers improved to 13-4 and LSU's pitching staff dropped its ERA to 0.95 on the season.

BATON ROUGE - After posting a season-high 196.925 in an upset victory over Oregon State, the LSU gymnastics team earned a regional qualifying score of 196.110 to hold on to the No. 10 national ranking in the latest standings released by GymInfo on Monday.

BATON ROUGE - LSU men's basketball coach Trent Johnson has teamed up with Shaquille O'Neal as well as former Tiger coach Dale Brown and Be The Match to tell the nation about the critical need for more bone marrow donors. In the Do Something Big campaign, the basketball personalities will challenge Americans to "Be the one to save a life." Three public service announcements will hit the airwaves and the Internet starting in March.
